Corruption remains one of the most significant impediments to development and governance in Nigeria. It undermines public trust, weakens institutions, and perpetuates poverty. Jalingo South LGA in Taraba State is not immune to these challenges, with corruption affecting various sectors, including education, healthcare, and infrastructure development. By providing evidence-based reports, journalists empower citizens, influence policy changes, and deter corrupt practices. However, investigative journalism faces numerous obstacles, such as threats to journalists' safety, limited resources, and lack of legal protections. This study examines the role of investigative journalism in addressing corruption in Jalingo South LGA, highlighting its contributions, challenges, and potential.
